Inter-Faith Blessings & Support

Wedding Celebrant and Workplace Chaplain

COSTS

We all of us have living expenses to cover, and have to make provision for our families and the future. However, you will find that I do not seek to make excessive profits from my ministry. In most cases, priests of all denominations charge comparable fees for similar services.

When asked to design a celebratory service, such as a baby naming, do bear in mind that an interfaith minister works with you in developing something unique, we do not work from a set script. Consequently a little more time is involved.

In the case of wedding blessings, we will spend time discussing the vows you are making and how you will put them to work, and handle problems if they come up, as well as designing the service and practicing some parts of it. This also takes time, but whatever the process we work through, you will find it is time well spent in the long run. (I cringe to say this, but the first couple I married say that the sessions before the wedding were more important to them than the celebration itself !!)

I have shown some typical costs for locally-based support below.

Whereas a parish priest works in a relatively small area and travels quite short distances, my own ministry takes me further afield - including travelling outside the UK. So, I do have to take into account the time and cost involved.

Generally, I ask for reimbursement of my travel and accommodation expenses. If the time involved is considerable, then I will agree with you the cost of the time involved.

Whatever happens, I will do my best to discuss the costs involved with you before incurring any expense.

REMEMBER: If it isn't sensible or appropriate for me to provide the support that you need I will do my best to locate one of the 1100 other ordained interfaith ministers who can do so.
